Captain Chris Martin appears to fit right in while fishing the waters that run the Texas Gulf Coast. He is an expert that has been utilized for his knowledge of the areas that run from Galveston Bay to the San Antonio Bay system and has been fishing this area since he was eight years old. It seems Chris is a native of the area, but his family is originally from North Carolina and he is the first generation of his family to find fishing the slow moving waters of this area to be his calling in life.
The call of these waters was too much for Captain Martin to resist, no matter how long he tried to hold out. After attending Saint Thomas University and spending twenty years working in sales and marketing, during which time he always felt a strong connection to fishing the Texas Gulf Coast waters, Chris now is able to enjoy his pursuit of his life-long dream of fishing for a living.

He and his wife Deb reside in Seadrift, Texas where they have built up their business, Bay Flats Lodge, which is an amazing fishing lodge that overlooks the San Antonio Bay, welcoming those who want to have a great fishing weekend or week-long vacation to get away from the busyness of life.
With his background in business and marketing Captain Chris Martin has become a contributor to many fishing magazines. These include Texas Fish & Game Magazine, Coastal Angler Magazine, salty Angler Magazine and Sporting Classic Magazine. He has also written articles for the Dolphin Talk Newspaper and the Port Lavaca Wave Newspaper and has contributed to the Houston Chronicle Newspaper in the fishing reports section.
If you are an avid fan of fishing, especially in the Texas area, you may recognize Chris as he has been featured on NBC Outdoor Sports, hosted Ducks Unlimited TV, Majesty Outdoors TV, Benelli On Assignment on Versus TV and the Outdoor Channel and has been featured in A Hundred Years of Texas Waterfowl and Hunting which is a book by R. K. Sawyer. Chris has been the host of numerous Ducks Unlimited Outdoor Media Camps including one that was attended exclusively by women.
